Faith Healing

Faith healing came into prominence during the 1930s with faith healers drawing large crowds and establishing devoted followings both in the United States and abroad.  Every healer had a slightly different method but all shared the use of intense, vocal prayer and the laying of the healer’s hands on to the person to be healed. 

While many healers performed actual, documented acts, some would eventually be proven as fakes. Using state of the art equipment, much like Jonas Nightingale, some healers projected the illusion of possessing a heavenly gift when in reality they were nothing but charlatans out to bilk their followers out of their hard earned money.
